Dixie Luck features ten short stories and the novella Terminal. The stories are set in the South and feature (quoting the dust jacket here) “…gamblers, look-on-the-bright-side salesmen and other brands of optimistic Southerners.”
Plattner’s most recent work of literary fiction is Dixie Luck: Stories & the novella Terminal, which was published on April 2 of this year by Mercer University Press. His first story collection, Winter Money, won the Flannery O’Connor Award from the University of Georgia Press, and his first novel, Offerings from a Rust Belt Jockey, was given Dzanc Books’ Mid-Career Award and the Castleton-Lyons Book Award for the best book on thoroughbred racing in 2014. Currently, Andrew teaches fiction and literature courses at Kennesaw State University and fiction courses at Emory University.
