Barry is a Kentucky award-winning novelist who has written two historical fiction novels, The Crossings and The Indian. He studied Accounting at Northern Kentucky University, is a CPA and has worked primarily in the accounting and finance areas of construction and real estate firms as CFO. He is currently semi-retired and serves on the Foundation Board of Northern Kentucky University as well as the local Advisory Board of Truist Bank.
